Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Ghana; Yanko Yordanov paid courtesy visits to the European Union Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Irchad Razaaly, Her Excellency Claudia Turbay Quintero Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Ghana and the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Ghana, Charles Abani.

Ambassador Yordanov indicated to his colleagues to be pleased that Bulgaria has returned to Ghana after an absence of almost two years without a Bulgarian Ambassador.

After the temporary closure of Bulgaria’s Embassy Bulgaria only had a Honorary Consulate where Mr. Nicolaas C.M. van Staalduinen represented Bulgaria since 2018, Bulgaria had a first Ambassador for a brief period in 2019 and since 23rd November 2021 His Excellency Yanko Yordanov.

Ambassador Yordanov, a former representative of Bulgaria to the United Nations in New York informed The EU Ambassador, The Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations that he wishes to maintain and extend a good relationship with all diplomatic missions in Ghana and hopes that trade relations will between Bulgaria and Ghana will return to its historic importance.

Although Ambassador Yordanov is resident in Abuja he promised his colleagues to visit Ghana regularly because he foresees a great cooperation in Ghana with especially the EU, where Bulgaria is a member state of.
